2024 Builder and Trade Professional Awards

The Annual Building Awards program began in 1980 to encourage better design and construction in the Poconos. This is the twentieth year that the Pocono Builders Association will sponsor this fine event. Competition for awards is limited to membership within the Pocono Builders Association.

This year's Awards Dinner will be help on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Ridgecrest, Stroudsmoor Inn.

Awards of achievement are presented in various categories. Judges are non-partisan professionals from outside of the area who volunteer their time to help with this program. All entries are completely anonymous for fairness.

Deadline for Entries: Friday, September 20, 2024

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Complete all entry forms online.
• A minimum of seven (7), maximum of sixteen (16) photographs
• Entries must include exterior & interior photos. (For remodeler/addition/renovation categories must include at least two "before" photos).
• A simple layout or floor plan (if applicable)
• A narrative of up to 250 words that describes the project and a 1 sentence narrative for use with Multimedia Presentation.
  • Narratives exceeding 250 words will result in being disqualified. Must have one sentence narrative for show presentation.
  • Be sure to review the scoring criteria in the downloadable files section on this landing page to ensure you are including all details the judges will need to score your entry.
• A summary of specifications and any special construction details.
• Photos must be submitted with or without captions through the online portal being sure there are no logos or names on the photos.
• Documentation proving that each project was completed in the time frame stated in rule two by September 20, 2024.
• Payment to be made through online entry portal for each submission.

ENTRY RULES

PLEASE NOTE FAILURE TO ADHERE TO RULES WILL RESULT IN BEING DISQUALIFIED

Participants who submit a project that has been entered in previous Pocono Builders Association Building Awards competitions will be automatically disqualified, will forfeit all entry fees, and will be disqualified from participation in the program for two additional years beyond the current program.

Participants must submit a certificate of occupancy or other documentation proving that each project was completed in the time fram stated in rule two.

1. This program is limited to members only of the Pocono Builders Association.
2. Entries must be projects substantially completed by September 20, 2024 for landscapers, entries may be current or previous year installations.
3. Applicants may be owner, architect, engineer, builder, remodeler, interior designer, contractor or landscape designer. All professionals will be verbally recognized. Applicants other than the owners must have owner's permission.
4. A project may be entered in more than one category.
5. Judging will be done by non-partisan professionals using online scoresheets. Entries MUST BE ANONYMOUS for fairness with no names or logos appearing on materials except the entry form. This includes the narrative. Entries MUST BE COMPLETE and submitted all online. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.  The decision of the judges is final.
6. Judges have sole discretion of decision.
7. Entry fees are as follows:
   • $240 per entry for each project (Includes one dinner at the Building Awards ceremony)
8. Winning entries will be featured in the Association newsletter, website and annual membership publication.
9. Photos of your project will be presented in the PowerPoint presentation at the Awards dinner.
